Should you have a Labor Day sale?
It’s a great time to host a sale because consumers will be in the shop-y mood thanks to Labor Day being a weekend also known for great discounts.
Here’s a few questions to help you decide if having a sale is aligned with your business goals right now…
- Do you have inventory from spring/summer that you want/need to get rid of?
- Are you in need of a quick cash injection so you have dollars on hand to invest in fall projects, new inventory or marketing?
- Do you have enough inventory on hand to support a sale? (product based)
- Do you have the bandwidth to support clients at this time? (service based)
If you answered YES to these questions then a sale event could be a great move.
Want a cheat code on how to promote it? I love what Mayfair is doing! They are offering early access to their Labor Day sale if email subscribers sign up for texts. This is SMART because it allows them to build their SMS contacts before the holiday season begins!
If you are not looking to add SMS into your strategy right now you could also do this on social and ask your audience to join your email list to get first access.
