Black Friday Strategy to Boost Sales All Year Long

The power of suggestion is a huge driver of additional cart revenue, especially on Black Friday when adding something extra to an order makes sense since it is on sale. 

Naturium (they make my FAV body wash ever) just launched a brand new product today. It’s a body butter from the same line as the body wash. You KNOW I need it.

Here is how they will get me to increase my cart value when I place my order…

They created a discounted bundle and suggested it as an option on the product page for the body butter. Instead of buying one jar for $20, I could get a jar PLUS a full size body wash (which I already love) for $32.

I am saving $4 if I decide to go with the bundle. BUT what I am going to gain is much greater…

🛍 They positioned complimentary products together as a match made in heaven. I will get soft, glowing skin if I use the body butter- but even better results if I use the wash together with it.

This messaging is important because…

1️⃣ The customer will get a better experience because complimentary products can help achieve a better result.

2️⃣ The average order size increases through the bundle without having to do a lot of extra leg work. This drives additional revenue!

  • In this example if just 20 customers decided to opt for the bundle instead of the stand alone product that would create an extra $240 in sales.
  • If 100 people checked out with a bundle instead it would generate an extra $1200.

So, how can you apply this to YOUR business for Black Friday and beyond? 🤔

🛒Configure your website so that you can include a section on each product page that shares suggested products or uses the language “other customers who purchased this product also purchased…”

🛒Send emails to your list that feature a specific product/service they may already have (like a best seller) and share a complimentary product or program. Share the result / transformation someone would get if they used both.

🛒Create short form video content for your social platforms that showcase two of your products/services together in a lifestyle setting.

And of course, you can create a bundle with a small discount and strong messaging, just like this brand did.
